Nawab Fusion Grill

This rainy Wednesday, we made it out to Nawab Fusion Grill (5009 Yonge Street) near North York subway station for a delicious dinner. Nawab Fusion Grill is an Indian gastropub offering a unique take on Indian pub fare.

It was a fairly quiet night with the baseball game playing in the background. The two waitresses were both very friendly and attentive. Luckily, there was also a promotion for half-price appetizers on Wednesdays with purchase of any drink!

NAWAB GARLIC BALLS

This is the “#1 appetizer”! It was really good with strong and interesting flavours. It went well with the two sauces also provided.

BUTTER CHICKEN POUTINE

While the garlic balls were good, I think this was the clear winner of the night. The fries were perfectly crispy and the butter chicken sauce and cheese were incredible! We were all over the butter chicken sauce and probably could have used a slightly bigger container to pour on all the fries underneath, haha. :) I would definitely come back just to keep getting this dish.

CHILI GARLIC CHICKEN

Honestly, the two appetizers probably would have been enough to fill us both up. I’m glad we still ordered this to try though – it was great! The chicken was cooked nicely and the sauce was delicious. We ordered this with butter naan.

RAS MALAI

Despite being pretty full, I insisted on sharing a small dessert. :P The description of this one was definitely intriguing for me. We both really enjoyed the cakes (which were more spongecakes than cheesecakes, we thought) and rose milk was pretty amazing.

We had a great time here! It was definitely worth the trek in the rain to try it out. Atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent, and there are still a few items on the menu (pulled lamb sliders! grilled calamari!) I’m keen to try out.
