Great Escape North York

A friend of mine teamed up with some of his buddies to open Great Escape (Unit A, 5291 Yonge Street) in North York, a real life escape game in which a group of 2-4 or 2-6 players are locked in a room and must find clues and solve puzzles to ‘escape’ within the time limit of 45 minutes. There are a lot of these places popping up all over Toronto now, and this is the first one I’ve tried so far. It’s tons of fun and really challenging! Your mind, patience, and friendships will all be tested. :P

Currently, Great Escape has four escape rooms (The Bombshelter, The Dungeon, The Garage, The Office) with different themes and levels of difficulty. Each room is fairly small and crammed with clues, ciphers, and props. So far, I’ve tried three of these original rooms:

Booking at Great Escape is $17/person or $15/person with a Facebook check-in or like. On Victoria Day, people named Victor or Victoria got in for free so we each paid $11.25 for The Bombshelter. The location is nice since it’s walking distance from Finch subway station and surrounded by restaurants and cafes (particularly L’Opera Patisserie and Cafe just downstairs!). Try it out sometime~
