Joyce, Kim, Val and I had one great girls’ night out after catching a Groupon deal for four people to enjoy Paint Nite. Basically, a painting instructor guides the rest of us in painting a selected piece. You’re always free to veer off to add your own flair or create your own interpretation, of course! The painting supplies are all already provided for, and at the end of the night, you take home your painting on canvas.
This basically sounded like a perfectly chill and low-key girls’ night out to me. We decided on an event that was taking place at Magic Oven (347 Keele Street) for an evening of pizza, pear cider, and painting!
Rachel and her painting assistant were really friendly and funny. This was a fairly easy and quick piece to follow, and I had a great time painting and adding my own touches to it. Following our painting session, we headed downstairs to share a pizza and couple other dishes for dinner.
Our appetizer was this goat cheese and tomato dip that was delicious! I definitely ate most of this, haha.
One of our mains was the pesto pasta with smoked salmon and red peppers. This was good, though lacking in the smoked salmon bit.
I’m pretty sure the pizza was the unanimous winner of the night – it was a great choice made by Joyce, and I’m not usually a big fan of BBQ sauce. Delicious pizza and great venue!
