Kevin and I had a late lunch / early dinner at one of the many Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge (8187 Yonge Street) in the area. We shared a steak/pasta item on their seasonal menu that, from the description, we actually believe was a steak with an accompaniment of pasta, lol. It turned out to be a pasta with a few pieces of steak and chopped mushrooms. While it wasn’t bad, we were just expecting something else.
The dessert, however, definitely made up for it! We originally wanted to order the less expensive crepe version, but at the suggestion of our server, opted for the more impressive-looking waffle version.
rich vanilla ice cream pairs up with a caramel apple granny bar; topped with fresh strawberries, strawberry purée, whipped cream, and draped with rich chocolate
A great dessert for any sweet tooth! The waffles were warm and fluffy and the taste was classic. We came at a quiet time of the day so our service experience was pretty good; in contrast, it seems, to most other reviewers of this chain and location. The main that we shared wasn’t anything particularly noteworthy, but I’m definitely a fan of the waffle dessert here. It’s reasonably priced and good enough for two.
